How I improved my a/c cooling water installation

Post by ARPE » Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:58 pm

After struggling to like the original installation of my a/c seawater pump and reviewing literature, such as the one from Dometic installation manual (https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/produc ... umentation) - picture reproduced below, I decided to do something about it.

I had the following opportunities to improve hull to a/c seawater pump:
1) An avoidable 90deg elbow fitting,
2) Hoses had kinks (wrinkles)
3) One of the hose2thread fitting was made of PVC
4) Hose diameter from strainer to pump smaller than pump inlet
5) Hose could be more robust

This is the result:

please install a ball valve between the streiner and pump to avoid air in the system when cleaning the strainer
