R40 Adding a Owner's Cabin Mirror
One of the things the admiralty noticed was that we did not have a full body mirror on board... We found a mirror that was 17.5' wide (bed & bath), which is just the size that we needed to fit behind the aft cabin door. We also added hardware to prevent the head door from hitting the mirror. The rea...

Re: Windlass breaker location in R40
Because you have the bowl thruster and the windlass is powered by its battery, I have few suggestions of location: 1) Under the bed close to the bowl thruster battery, 2) Port side where the relay is located ( the manual points to the location of the relay ) Given the high amperage, it is very unlik...

R40 Remote Control
I added a Garmin GRID 20 remote control to improve: 1) Have 4 one touch buttons to change both screens to preconfigured situations, 2) Have a rotating knob to zoom in/out on the maps 3) Be able to change stuff on the screens while rested on the seat 4) ...have fun :D (at the moment it is working on ...

R40 Capitain's cup holder
Despite having two cup holders at the left of the helm station, they are not friendly to the captain (you can guess who is the captain
). I found a pretty simple solution!

Re: R40 Additional USB-sockets
Your R40 must have a new helm-station, mine has two screens as well but they are mounted on different panels. The new solution (yours) seems much better as I can barely see the second screen when seated. I need help figuring out how to bring a wire from the helm station to the room under the seating...

R40 Storage solution for oil, filters and tools
The R40 design is optimized in such away that it is difficult to find locations to store dirty stuff. For example, while I want to carry oil for engine and transmission, hydrogen peroxide, etc, I do not want them inside one of my cabins. I saw this solution while at the Miami Boat show, a pre-owned ...

Re: R40 Stern Windlass
Nice addition, the only item you should consider adding is a safety wire. It is an extra safety to be used while on the way, see http://bavariaownersforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=794
