Re: R40 - Water in engine room!

My R40 also has the BBQ option, I am going to verify how the pipes are installed. Please post your pictures, for some reason they were not attached.

Re: Boat Buyer looking for help

I have an R40 and I am pretty satisfied with it. The hull and deck joints seem solid, I had not encountered any issue related to this and never heard of another user that had it. All my through hulls are bronze and seem ok, they are not “seacocks”. They are through hulls connected to in-line bronze ...

Re: R40 Sound Improvements

I did the same as soon as i realized the head unit had 3 zones. Only reason for factory configuration might be to have more power from the amp on the stern speakers. I m not convinced of the sound quality of those so im considering to replace them with better similar sized speakers adding an extra ...

Securing carpets or vinyl floors

Many of our boats have carpet floors disguising access doors. For example, mine has an air conditioner unit below the floor, the black water tank and several pumps under another door, cabin bilge pump on another and a couple of sump pumps on two others. Regular maintenance requires the lifting of th...

R40 Below waterline thru-hull locations

When I got my boat I took photos of the below waterline thru-hulls. Since then I even swapped the raw water a/c one by a bronze type with a scoop. I am sharing the photos here in case it is useful to another R40 owner. This picture shows the depth-temperature sensor thru-hull (black) and the origina...

Re: R40 electric wiring

I do not recall a wiring duct that connects the panel under the stairs with the helm station. The cabinet in the starboard side of the master bedroom has an a/c duct and wires related to a/c unit, I do not recall seeing the many wires needed for the helm station. Once I wanted to install a XM antenn...

Re: R40 electric wiring

The carpet is secured by a double sided tape. You can remove it and reused few times. There are removable wooden doors below certain areas. In the aft cabin it hides the a/c, you will need to open it to clean the filter. The hall in front of the stairs have a large wooden cover. It hides the black w...

Re: R40 electric wiring

I already opened several of those panels, I am not sure where you are planning to pull wires. 1) Engine room - to Galley I installed speakers by the swim platform, I pulled the speaker wires through the engine room port side. After removing the refrigerator it was easy to find a hole to pull the wir...
